Can cellulose act as a fire retardant?
Cellulose does not offer resistance to fire but it is flame retardant.
In terms of flame spread index, which is the value expressing the flame spread rate on the surface of a material or a component, “igloo” cellulose used by Isolation Multi-Services , has an index of less than 25, which puts it in Class A.
In addition, when it comes to flameless combustion, cellulose will put itself out when the heat source disappears.
