Membrane installation

A sealing membrane is an effective barrier to protect buildings from harsh climates.

Sealing meaning, "who lets nothing pass" the membrane lets through neither air nor water, thus acting as an air, water vapor and rain barrier.

The advantages of membrane insulation

It is resistant to air leakage, which improves both energy efficiency and air quality. It also provides protection against moisture build-up that can cause mold, corrosion and degradation.

How does an insulating building membrane work?

The membrane is made of rubberized bitumen integrally laminated to a thermoplastic film, and is self-adhesive. It was designed to be easily installed on a wide variety of prepared substances such as concrete, concrete blocks and steel coated with primer.

Because of its malleability and its light weight, it is suitable for large roofs or those with unique shapes which it faithfully follows. Installed at the foot of walls, it will also protect against moisture due to capillary action caused by a wall in direct contact with the ground. It can also adapt to beams or steel roofs.

Since its implementation is quite complex, it is recommended to hire skilled workers for the installation of a sealing membrane.
