CAFCO 300 - 400 - M2
Considered to be an innovative product and one of the more efficient ones on the market, CAFCO 300, 400 and M2 offers the best fire resistance as a function of thickness out of all types of plaster-based flame retardant agglomerate on the market. Ideal for steel structures, ceilings and walls, it can also be used on concrete. This product is mainly used in commercial construction projects.
Monokote Z-3306 is a Portland1 cement based thermal barrier coating designed to be applied on polyurethane and polystyrene foams. Durable and resistant, it provides protection against heat and fire with a delay of 10 minutes. Furthermore, it meets all the requirements specified by building codes and insurance companies.
All these products can also act as thermal insulators. This is an advantage particularly when installed under the roof because they reduce heat loss, thereby increasing the R value, which may thus allow a reduction of roof insulation.

CAFCO Blaze-Shield II
CAFCO Blaze-Shield II is the only inorganic product that can be used on the outside of a building during its construction under extreme weather conditions. Furthermore, in addition to its efficiency of application, it provides thermal and acoustic properties. Made of Portland1 cement, it is applied directly on the coating of steel beams and columns or on concrete surfaces that must be concealed during an extended construction period. This product has a high content of recycled building materials and offers excellent durability. Since it requires no pre-mixing, the labor costs for installation are reduced, making Blaze-Shield II the most economical flame retardant in its class.
DEMILEC DC 315
DC 315 - 15 Minute Thermal & Ignition Barrier on Spray Polyurethane Foam; applied over Spray Polyurethane Foam (SPF), is an Alternative Barrier System in “Section 2603.9 Special Approval” as a thermal barrier. To be approved as an Alternative Barrier System, DC 315 is applied over a manufacturer’s SPF and tested to the criteria of an NFPA 286, UL 1715, UL 1040, or FM 4880 for duration of 15 minutes by an accredited fire testing facility. Products that pass an ignition barrier tested under AC 377 Appendix X are not appropriate alternative thermal barriers and cannot be used. Depending on your particular application, either ignition or thermal barriers are required by the International Building Code (IBC).
